Our Mission

For 23 years, My Sister’s Place shelter has been a beacon of hope and healing for homeless women and their children, showering all who enter with God’s love.

Our History

Founded in 2000, Marty Owens dream was to open My Sister’s Place as a sanctuary and to provide a nurturing home, transportation assistance, nutritious meals and other basic necessities to the single women and mothers with children. While they are with us, we provide the tools and resources to help them to be in a better position when they leave than when they arrived.

More About Us

It all began with love for God and a heart for the homeless. The willingness of one woman to care for the needs of another has grown into a beautiful ministry that has impacted hundreds of lives. Learn more about how My Sister’s Place started and what we do to help women and children by viewing the video below.

Special thanks to the students in the Audio Video and Film Technology program at Chestatee High School for the production of this video.
